In just a few short years, Griesbach has developed a thriving minor soccer program, operating as a member of the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association. We are fielding a growing number of teams in all age categories as our community growings (mixed, male and female). The program is 100% volunteer run, and administered by Griesbach Community League.

Practices at the U8-U18 levels are solely at the discretion of the coaches. This means that you will play a game twice a week plus at least one practice whether it is before a game or on a separate day of the week, whatever the coach chooses.U10 and up there are 3 rounds, with 5 games in each round, whereby teams are tiered after each round, with the opportunity to qualify for City Championships, Inter-Cities and Provincials.
Coaches and Volunteers Wanted
Our program would not be possible without the selfless contribution of our volunteers coaches, managers and assistants. Many people are afraid of the word “coach” but here’s the thing, if you can carry a bag of balls and some equipment and stand on the sidelines and encourage the kids to run in the right direction, pass the ball, shoot on the net and not use their hands, YOU WILL BE A GREAT COACH!! It is a very rewarding experience and we encourage you to come forward and help out with your child’s team. One question we get all the time is, “Will I be coaching my own child’s team?” ABSOLUTELY! We do not separate coaches from the children, so come on out and have some fun!
For the safety of our children, all coaches and volunteers require security screening.
1. Shin guards (MANDATORY at all age levels)
